Memories

Beautiful Memories

Here at Inspire we have lovely memories of Lily. Skipping in to class as a 4 year old with her infectious smile and happy personality. Super talented from day one and loved by everyone. A definite favourite with the other students, she loved dancing with her duo partners Cerys and Ailsa.

Our little ‘Wild Child’ she loved dancing at stage and freestyle competitions with all her friends and she regularly went home with numerous medals and trophies. Lily will be part of Inspire forever.

Lily started dancing with me from the age of 4 and it didn’t take long to work out that lily had a natural talent and flair for dance. Lily went on to win numerous medals, trophies and also Scottish and World titles in street dance with me.

Lily’s passion and dedication to dance was incredible, she continued to show this as she danced through her illness. You were one of the most inspiring and talented girls I’ve taught and your love of dance will continue to inspire us all. I miss you champ but know you are there dancing every step with us on every stage and dance floor.

We first met Lily when she came along to audition to be an orphan in our production of Annie. There was around 90 children at the audition but Lily made sure we noticed her. Front and centre doing as many tricks and spins as she could, with her long blonde hair, big beautiful smile and positive energy, she definitely made an impression.

Lily made such an impact on us and our musical society that we created and dedicated an award in memory of her. We award it to a youth member that we feel has made a positive impression within the society. The Lily Douglas Shining Star award will forever remind our society of Lily’s Legacy.
