Lilys Story
Lily found a lump on her shoulder at a dance competition when she was 9 years old . Scans showed Lily had Ewings Sercoma a rare childhood bone cancer which was in her shoulder blade and spread to her lungs. It was sadly already stage 4 by the time it was found 1 child in a million is affected by Ewings Sercoma
Over 5 years Lily endured several major surgeries including her shoulder blade removal, stem cell removal, port issues, feeding tube insertions, years of chemotherapy, dendritic cell treatment in Spain, radiotherapy and a 3 month trip to America for proton beam therapy.
Sadly in August 2021 lily’s cancer travelled to her brain and she was paralysed down the right hand side of her body.
Lily’s Mum said, “Lily was so brave and positive throughout her ordeal, everyone who met Lily spoke of how inspiring she was, Lily was never without a large smile on her face, she was caring kind and always thought of others”
Lily devastatingly lost her battle to Ewings Sercoma in January 2023, but her family want to keep Lily’s memory alive by helping others through her charity.
